Home & Hawaii Bound!! ~ Hawaii Wedding Photographer

Please excuse my terrible iPhone photos in this post… I’m writing from my parents’ house in Wisconsin, where it is COLD and apparently snowing – and it’s the only thing I have to use! 🙂 (I just woke up to that pretty white stuff on the ground! Ah!) We drove up yesterday afternoon to drop off Chloe with them because they are so, so wonderful and taking our crazy Chloe pup while we’re gone! (Here she is lounging on the couch, where I found her this morning when I woke up a few hours after my parents left for work. :))

We’re heading back to Chicago today to run our last minute errands, and pack/prep for our trip to Hawaii before we fly out in the wee hours of the morning! To say we’re insanely excited about this trip is a GIANT understatement. 😉 I’ve had dreams of going to Hawaii since I was a little girl and heard stories of my parents living in Honolulu together when they were first married and my dad was in the Navy. I always felt so cool sharing that little tidbit with my friends… “My parents used to live in Hawaii and they had a mango tree in their yard!” How cool was I?! haha. (Below are photos my dad took when they lived there that now are displayed in my childhood bedroom! By the way, we are going with my parent’s old address in hand – so we hope to drive over and see where they used to live!) :))

I grew up seeing these photos and more that my dad took when they lived there and always hoped to get there some day. So James and I are beyond thankful that our fabulous clients, Tanya and Greg, are flying us out there to document their amazing wedding this Saturday on the Big Island and that we’re able to make a trip out of it!!! We’ll be spending the early part of this week in Honolulu, and then heading to Hawai’i for the wedding festivities (followed by more free time the week after). I am SO excited to get to do a pre-wedding sunset session with them on Friday at a a beautiful, expansive ranch, and to spend Saturday with them documenting their intimate wedding at a house on an old sugar cane plantation. I cannot wait make some magic with them in all these photos!!! Ah!!!

Anyway, that is all to say we are going to be out of the office for the next two weeks!! I don’t have any blog posts planned, but may throw a few updates/photo posts in here and there depending on how things go! Since it is a work trip and James does have some school work to finish with finals approaching – we plan to work occasionally and I will be doing my best check email every few days and reply to those that are urgent (since it is booking season!) – but we also hope to really RELAX and enjoy ourselves too!! Since this may be a once-in-a-lifetime trip for us… we want to really soak it in!

If you’d like to follow the trip – you know we’ll be Instagram crazy (as always!) and can follow us there at christytylerphoto and l2jchicity.

We’ll officially see you all back here on December 9th! Have an AMAZING Thanksgiving and wonderful start to the holiday season in the meantime!  xoxo
