I’ve been dying to share this gorgeous Garfield Park Conservatory wedding with you guys!
Amy and Tom booked me just a month before their wedding – so our experience together was a bit of a whirlwind! I originally only met with Tom because Amy had to stay late at work and couldn’t make the meet-up. I won’t lie, when I got the email that Amy couldn’t make it – I was a bit nervous about meeting with only the groom because I wasn’t sure we would have a ton to talk about! However, I was pleasantly surprised when I met Tom and realized that I had nothing to worry about! We got along great and the meet-up lasted way longer than I anticipated! We talked over beers about anything and everything (including Amy), with a little wedding photography chat mixed in there. It was actually kind of nice to get to know Amy through Tom’s eyes and stories first, and then to meet up with her a few days later over lunch to chat more and see for myself how his description of her matched up to the real thing.
It turned out he was right – she was kind hearted, laid-back, and so excited to be spending her wedding day with her closest family and friends at a beautiful garden in the city.
Fast forward to their wedding day a couple weeks later… It was a beautiful Friday afternoon in Chicago when I met up with Amy at their north side home to drive down to the Adler Planetarium together for her first look with Tom. Tom isn’t one that loves getting his picture taken, so it was really cool to see how much he opened up and warmed up to the camera when he had Amy by his side. These two always keep each other smiling and you can tell they think the absolute world of one other. It was really an inspiring thing to see.
Amy and Tom – Thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful wedding celebration with open arms! It was an honor to witness you taking this next step in your love story together – and James and I wish you nothing but the best!! I hope these photos bring smiles to your faces for years and years to come!
